charlie + dani
i first met charlie and dani at a city on a hill that is not actually a city but a family on a hill except we are not really on a hill but we are really a family. though i don’t remember the exact moment i met either of them, that doesn’t mean they don’t leave an impression on people. in fact, they are quite impressionable because once you meet them, you will never forget them.
there are a number of reasons why i love dani. i love dani because she’s not afraid to go diving in the ocean and wrap herself in water to see what it holds. i love her because she braves the 99 b-line with me at rush hour and has a deep passion for tea and for prayer. i love that she actually wears the socks i buy her for her birthday. she is like a pair of pyjamas: comfortable to be around and good for the soul.
there are also a number of reasons why i love charlie. the first is that he lets me call him charlie even though that’s technically not his real name. i also appreciate how he drives me home after community group and how he’s always super enthusiastic about seeing me at church. charlie is great because he sits with dani in the hair salon for four hours while she gets her hair straightened. that’s the kind of person he is: loyal and patient and willing to endure for the ones he loves.
you are both so ammmMmmMaaAAazing it fills me with joy of all different colours.
so congratulations! i am so happy for you ! ! ! !
and in the meantime,
i’d better get my mason jar ready to make a toast at your wedding.
